Core Cutting MachinesOverview
RC Paper Machines offer open-type headboxes, designed for uniform stock distribution and stable sheet formation. The flow system minimises turbulence and fibre flocculation across the machine width. This results in better basis weight control and improved formation quality. The design supports consistent performance across various paper grades.
Primarily applied in low- to medium-speed machines (under 300 m/min) for kraft liner, corrugated medium, and tissue paper production, where pulp consistency ranges from 0.2-1.0%.
Scope of Delivery
- Includes hydraulic headbox body (stainless steel, up to 5000mm width), perforated distributor plate, slice lip adjusters (manual/hydraulic), air pad/cushion chamber, level control sensors, basis weight valves, and mounting frame.
- Other common components include Control cabinet (PLC for lip/level), lubrication system, ceramic wear liners, safety interlocks, spares (seals/gaskets/liners), installation alignment tools, and commissioning support.
Key Advantages
- Economical design with simple construction using gravity-fed pulp distribution, reducing initial costs for smaller-scale or pilot operations.
- Provides stable pulp flow and uniform sheet formation through adjustable slice lips and level control, ideal for consistent quality in tissue and packaging grades.
- Easy maintenance and customisation for machine widths up to 5000 mm, suiting tissue machines and kraft lines without high-pressure needs.
- Reliable for low-speed Fourdrinier setups, minimising complexity while achieving good rectification of pulp streams.
