Core Cutting MachinesOverview
RC Paper Machines offers single and double calender systems with hard and soft nip options. Crown control enables precise adjustment of caliper and surface finish across the sheet width. These systems improve smoothness, gloss, and thickness uniformity. Designed to deliver consistent quality for finished paper.
Scope of Delivery
- Single/Double Calenders - Includes steel chilled iron rolls (800-1100 mm dia., hard/soft covers), hydraulic loading/crown actuators, polymer bearings, doctor/scraper blades, safety bars, pneumatic spreaders, and base frames.
- Crown Control System - Features induction heating elements, hydraulic jacks, profile sensors (laser/nip scanners), control cabinet with PLC, cooling water circuits, and auto-levelling software.
Other common components include Roll covers (cotton/polyurethane), lubrication units, drives (variable speed), instrumentation (nip pressure/temp), spares (bearings/seals), and commissioning.
Key Advantages
- Single Hard Nip: Achieves high smoothness (SMD <2μm) and calliper control at 300-600 m/min for kraft, with hydraulic crown compensating roll bowing for uniform nips up to 200 kN/m.
- Double Hard Nip: Sequential nips boost gloss/flatness by 20-30% for print grades, enhancing tensile strength via fibre realignment while minimising breaks.
- Soft Nip: Preserves tissue bulk/softness with low-density cotton rolls (pressure 50-150 kN/m), ideal for premium hygiene papers without over-compression.
- Crown Control: Auto-adjusts roll crowns (thermal/hydraulic) for consistent nip profile across widths up to 5m, reducing edge cracks and improving reel uniformity.
- Versatile stacking for multi-grade lines, cutting energy vs. supercalenders by 50% with online integration
